Boeing 747-SP of the Qatari royal family is for sale

Santiago, Chile

A Boeing 747-SP aircraft belonging to the Qatari royal family is for sale on the used aircraft market. Among the highlights of this “simple” 747 when analyzed from the outside, there is a very luxurious interior, totally adequate for the transport it carried out.

Inside the aircraft we have a meeting room, presidential suite, offices, lots of gold, TV and DVD players, Wi-Fi, among other features. Oh, the plane is capable of carrying 31 more people, who help the work of the royal family, plus 12 more first-class seats, 18 business-class seats to help transport the royal committee.

As you can see from the photos, the interior of the aircraft is impeccable, despite the age of this 747-SP, which already has 37 years of life.

This aircraft once belonged to the Pan-Am fleet, a traditional American airline of the last century, and also to United, until it was purchased by the Qatari government in 1995.

Price? The website responsible for selling the aircraft did not officially disclose the value, but a similar Boeing 747 with a VIP interior in the same place costs US$ 26 million.

Reason? In 2012, the Qatari royal family ordered two brand new Boeing 747-8i aircraft, the first of which was delivered in 2015 and can be seen in the video below. The 747-8 is currently the largest passenger aircraft that Boeing produces, and logically larger than the 747-SP.
