Infraero concludes the last stage of works on the runway at Manaus Airport

Infraero completed the recovery work on the pavement of the runway at Eduardo Gomes International Airport, in Manaus (AM), this Thursday (9/7).

With investments of BRL 27 million, the improvements began in August 2018 and ensure that the airport will continue to operate with normal features, especially security, for the next 10 years.

The work, of a preventive nature, was divided into three stages, depending on the rainy season, and had the objective of maintaining the safety levels of operations at the Manaus terminal, explains the terminal's superintendent, Odone Bizz.

“During the entire period of works, we had to readjust the services of the airlines and relocate some flights in advance, to ensure the least possible impact on passengers. Thanks to this planned and team work, we completed the work with the least possible impact on operations.”

With the capacity to receive 18,2 million passengers per year, Manaus airport registered, until May this year, 12.390 operations, between landings and takeoffs, and 776.686 passengers, between landings and takeoffs.
